Today was our final day of activities. Campers climbed blindfolded, shot arrows, and made lanyards at arts and crafts. For lunch, we enjoyed a camp favorite meal of corn dogs and mac n cheese. Our honor cabins for today were Sioux, Cheyenne, Hatteras, Occaneechi, and Catawba.
When evening came, we all headed to the upper athletic field to play a game of Thrive, a spin on capture the flag where teams compete for points by capturing flags, chucking water balloons, and searching for watermelons in the woods. At the end of the game, the Blue team won! It was a long, fun-filled day, and we ended it with a special Vespers ceremony prepared by our last year campers in Hatteras, Pawnee, and Seminole. They talked about what friendship means to them and all that Camp Cheerio has meant to them throughout the years. Hugs were shared and some tears were shed, but at the end of it, we all headed to bed touched by the words our campers shared.
