TUESDAY

Happy Fourth of July! What a wonderful and beautiful day we had celebrating America!

We started the day with biscuits, bacon, and eggs. This was the perfect fuel for our morning activites - including boating, snorkeling, fishing, tree climbing, archery, hatchet throwing, and arts/crafts.

Lunch was fish sticks, hushpuppies, french fries, and cookies. All this awesome food put us in the mood for rest period right after.

Hoffman mountain won cabin cleanup today and was our “Honor Llama”! Mount Rogers was the “Dirty Duck” of the day, with the lowest cleanliness points from the Crazy Frog, Betsy.

This afternoon was a repeat of the morning but with an addition of Challenge Mania, mountain biking, and athletics.

Dinner was a classic Fourth of July dinner and kind of picnic style. We had amazing grilled chicken legs, corn on the cob, rolls, watermelon, salad, and a flag “fruit pie” for dessert.

The evening program tonight was RIVERFEST. Campers played numerous lawn games around camp with friends. We had a Fourth of July fashion show as well - with our Mount Rogers counselor, Lance, as the winner.

The night ended at Vespers with Stone Mountain giving their presentation on the importance of happiness to them.

Time for bed to rest up for the canoe trip tomorrow!
