Sign UpThe Y-Guides and Y-Princesses programs, also known as Cheerio Nation, have been traditions at Camp Cheerio since 1958. Even before Cheerio began operating as a summer camp, fathers and children from the High Point YMCA would visit the property to camp out for their annual Pow-Wows. More than 50 years later our mission remains the same: To strengthen the father/child relationship by providing opportunities for fathers to make lasting memories with their children.
As members of the program you and your child will be invited to Cheerio Nation events that include fun activities such as the annual Father/Daughter Dance, a Pinewood Derby race, twice-yearly Pow-Wows at Cheerio, as well as community outreach projects such as bell ringing for the Salvation Army and clothing drives for the less fortunate. For each Cheerio Nation Event that you and your child participate in you will each receive a patch for your vest, representing something special the two of you experienced together. You and your tribe will also plan and participate in other outings and activities as often as you like.

The only activities that are unavailable during heavy rain are horseback riding, lake activities, and climbing. On rainy evenings, we offer Trivia Night in our dining hall in the place of outdoor evening activities!
We serve our meals buffet style in our dining hall, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Our buffet line will be fully stocked for a 45 minute period during which guests may come and go as they please. In addition to our informal dinnerware used in the dining hall, we also offer to-go containers and plastic cutlery for our guests to use in their living quarters or at our many picnic tables around Camp.
Unfortunately, we do not allow guests to bring their pets for our weekend programs due to maintenance reasons.
A late check in is not an issue. If you need a late check-in, please contact us and let us know when you plan on arriving to Camp. We will be ready to greet you!
We understand that plans may change due to current, unpredictable circumstances. We offer a full refund up to 14 days prior to your arrival. Deposit will be non-refundable after this time. We do ask that you inform us of your cancellation as early as possible.
We take great care of guests with any special dietary needs and will be happy to accommodate you. Our gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options are delicious!
