The Y-Guides and Y-Princesses programs, also known as Cheerio Nation, have been traditions at Camp Cheerio since 1958. Even before Cheerio began operating as a summer camp, fathers and children from the High Point YMCA would visit the property to camp out for their annual Pow-Wows. More than 50 years later our mission remains the same: To strengthen the father/child relationship by providing opportunities for fathers to make lasting memories with their children.

As members of the program you and your child will be invited to Cheerio Nation events that include fun activities such as the annual Father/Daughter Dance, a Pinewood Derby race, twice-yearly Pow-Wows at Cheerio, as well as community outreach projects such as bell ringing for the Salvation Army and clothing drives for the less fortunate. For each Cheerio Nation Event that you and your child participate in you will each receive a patch for your vest, representing something special the two of you experienced together. You and your tribe will also plan and participate in other outings and activities as often as you like.

Dates for Events 2024-2025:

Kickoff Event: High Point Rockers Game, August 14th at 6:35

Braves Fall Pow Wow: September 20th-22nd, 2024
