The first full day of camp was full of surprises, cool finds, and excitement all around. The day opened with rocks being skipped across the river while other campers snorkeled, looking for crawdads and other treasures. One camper found a plastic blue motorcycle while others found and tried to dig up buried tires. Around camp, reptiles, cool bugs, and different deer bones were found as well, to the excitement of many.
During archery, Kellan hit a bullseye on the upper most target. He also managed to hit two bullseyes during hatchet throwing. He wasn’t the only one to sink the hatchet into the red circle in the middle, with Emily hitting two, Emilia and Carson hitting one, and Murran hitting a whopping three bullseyes, to her surprise.
The day ended with Riverfest, where campers enjoyed the new slip and slide, face paint, volleyball, frisbee, and a number of other activities on the front lawn. Campers, alongside staff, taught other campers how to play lacrosse, passing the ball back and forth as they taught each other how to catch with the stick. By the end of Riverfest, they were passing the ball with no problem.
